What are the symptoms of a failed water pump? A Water Pump has several gaskets that wear out over time.  Gaskets may also tear or may be damaged.  Bad Gaskets will cause a Water Pump to Leak.  Overtime water Pumps may also rust or corrode causing Coolant Leaks.  Rust and Corrosion will cause Holes or gaps in the Water Pump.  The Vehicle Engine can overheat causing Steam to come out from Under The Hood.  The Water Pumped can also make a High Pitched Whining Nosie when running.
